Ho..ho..hola!

We started celebrating the holidays by taking our friend and realtor, Daniel, his beautiful wife, Diana and Craig out for dinner on Friday night.  We had a great time and I was encouraged that talking Spanish to Diana went better than my efforts last year when I had used up all my Spanish words in the first 20 minutes.
The next night, I had Oscar, my taxi driver, take Roger, Craig and I on a Christmas light tour.  For 40 years, Medellin has created a light festival called Los Alumbrados, which is a spectacular display throughout the city.
Oscar had planned his route to ensure we saw everything from different vantage points.
One of the large light displays seen from across the river.
These pinwheels are powered by water from the river - and
they even change color.  Amazing sight.
Lights in El Centro
Amazing carts of food were set up all along the river.
Deep fried pieces of heaven -- aka Churros.

Thousands of people walked along the river seeing the displays
and enjoying the wonderful atmosphere.

By any measure, Los Alumbrados is a Christmas light display extraordinaire.  A winter wonderland without the snow.  Me gusta!
