Idaho - our second home

Anyone that knows us, knows we have this thing about Idaho. It is more than the land of potatoes, hillbillies and good shopping. It is where the sun shines, and the mountains, lakes and trees create a backdrop to our little piece of heaven.

We have been coming here since 1993 and have made life long friends along the way. Four boats later, and a purchased acre of “questionable” land in 2000 near Priest River, we are almost settled. That hunk of land was littered with garbage, had weeds taller than me, an abandoned chicken shed, and was next door to a crack house. There were no real redeeming qualities except it was on the water, the price was right – and Roger had a vision. So, along with our friends Heather and Don Moe, and Roger and Doreen Timm from Spokane, we bought it and started developing it.

As I look out from our deck, I see groomed grass, trees that are now shading the late day sun, a dock that is more than just a place to anchor boats, and wonderful neighbors that surround us. It is our second home, and where we come to capture, and re-capture summer memories that see us through the coldest of winters.
